Northern Ireland Science Park

Main Contractor: Heron Bro’s

Client: N I S P

Location: Belfast

The latest step in the planned expansion of Northern Ireland Science Park at Titanic Quarter. The project was a £5,48M new build, 5 storey office development sited on the Lough shore of the Titanic Basin

Complexity – This was a new build steel frame construction building with PCC slabs, brick and block infill panels, rainscreen panels, roofing cladding, stud partitions and raised access floors for the M&E services. The specialist electrical services consisted of:

  • Fire Detection & Alarm Systems
  • Access Control Systems
  • IT Cabling & Systems
  • Building Energy Management Systems
  • Mechanical services wiring
  • Lighting and external lighting
  • Passenger Lifts
  • Intruder Detection Systems
  • CCTV
  • Boiler and Calorifier Plants

The fit-out works were challenging in that we had to fit out parts of a particular floor while other end users were in occupation. This was achieved by careful programming and consultation with the building occupants, working outside normal hours, off site fabrication where possible to minimise disruption and ensuring all works areas were kept clean and tidy, free from debris and materials at all times.
